Complete a documentary within 2 weeks, by combining creative writing, producing, voice-over, editing and motion design.
While utilising modern AI technology alongside traditional methods to produce a visually appealing narrative.
The Challenge
The Challenge
With limited time and resources, I’d have to pull everything out of the bag. I was able to utilise; Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, various VSTs, Davinci Resolve, Stable Diffusion, Envato Elements, Artlist, Splice, ElevenLabs, Google Docs/ Sheets and my own custom ChatGPT as well.
I wanted the documentary to have a specific look and feel, which can be difficult to ascertain when working with stock footage. So I opted to go for black and white, occasionally bringing in colour for narrative purposes. There’s a mixture of two fonts used throughout. Garamond and Futura PT. I wanted both the serif and sans serif to juxtapose humanity and technology which is a running theme throughout the video.
I utilised Stable Diffusion for the bulk of the still images, fixing artefacts and issues within Photoshop along the way, using many of the techniques I discuss in my 2D Character Animator course on Udemy.
